In our modern world, Artificial Intelligence (AI) has evolved into an indispensable facet of our everyday lives.



Tracing back over 2000 years, we find a curious starting point. Have you ever encountered the tale of Talos from Greek mythology? A colossal metal giant, Talos underscores the profound historical roots of AI.

But what truly defines Artificial Intelligence? Elucidating its essence proves as challenging as explicating the intricacies of the human brain. Nonetheless, scientists propose four distinct lenses through which we can comprehend AI:

  1. Cognitive capacity (if a machine can emulate human thought, it earns the moniker of artificial intelligence)
  2. Emulation of human actions (regardless of the manner of thought, if a machine can mimic human behavior, it qualifies as artificial intelligence)
  3. Logical prowess (a machine capable of deductive reasoning can be classified as artificial intelligence)
  4. Task accomplishment (when a machine adeptly fulfills assigned tasks, it merits the title of artificial intelligence. This process demands independent identification of optimal strategies to achieve the task)

     Discourse on artificial intelligence inevitably includes the Turing test, conceived by Alan Turing. A machine successfully passes this test when its responses to queries become indistinguishable from those of a human counterpart. Picture this scenario: two sealed boxes, one containing a human and the other, a robot. Blind to the box’s contents, we pose random questions to both entities. If, even after extensive questioning, we remain uncertain about the true human, the robot stands validated as having triumphed in the Turing test.

Creating artificial intelligence has indeed posed a formidable challenge, as replicating the intricate complexity of the human brain through artificial means is no small feat. In the past, two primary concepts for achieving artificial intelligence emerged. One group of scientists believed that by emulating the human brain's functionality using artificial neurons and electrons, true AI could be realized. Conversely, another group posited that since humans navigate daily life using symbolic representations, imbuing machines with an understanding of these symbols could lead to artificial intelligence. However, the realization of the first concept faced significant hurdles due to the lack of sufficiently powerful computers in the 1990s.

     As a result, many scientists dismissed the feasibility of this first concept, deeming it impractical. However, in 2010, this concept resurfaced and surpassed other ideas, thanks to significant advancements in computer power. Scientists were finally able to obtain the necessary computational strength to construct artificial intelligence using artificial electronic neurons. Consequently, in contemporary times, this concept serves as the foundation for artificial intelligence development.

Removing artificial intelligence from the world abruptly would have profound consequences. Many sectors now heavily rely on AI, as seen in technologies like ChatGPT, stable diffusion, and mid-journey computations.

ChatGPT serves as a significant illustration of AI's capacity for transformation. Bill Gates (founder of Microsoft) presented OpenAI with a challenge: to use ChatGPT in an exam that demands human-like cognitive abilities. OpenAI not only embraced the challenge but also saw ChatGPT excel, achieving the exam's highest score.

     In the coming years, AI is likely to replace numerous jobs and employment opportunities. While this might have negative implications, AI has the potential to enhance efficiency and sustainability across various tasks. However, it's important to note that there are certain aspects, such as spirituality, that AI might never be able to surpass.
